How We Work

All product development and support is done in the U.S. When 3rd-party software libraries are used, we secure rights to the source code, to ensure product stability. We support our products in-house, so your questions have quick access to engineers with real answers. Our deployments range from stand-alone, to clusters that span time zones. Platforms include UNIX-based systems (Linux, Solaris, OS X, etc.) and Windows.

Supporting Open-Source

Our software must interface with many communications protocols. When no commercial or open-source APIs meet our needs or the quality required for commercial products, we develop custom implementations. Where appropriate, we make that code available to the open-source community:

Our software addresses unique situations, so sometimes we are the first to document technical issues. Programmers around the world discover these pages when searching online for help:

EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

We process personal data in compliance with the relevant data protection regulations.

Personal Data

Personal Data is anything specifically related to a person, including: name, location, and contact information. When visiting any website, the browser's network address is potentially Personal Data.

Data Protection

We take technical and operational security precautions on our website to protect Personal Data stored with us from unauthorized access. It is also your responsibility to protect your data when communicating with us, so sensitive data should be sent only when absolutely necessary, and then only over secure channels.

Cookies

Cookies are a short block of data (< 4kB) sent to a browser, to be stored and later returned by the browser. Cookies are essential to maintain state between multiple requests from the same browser, e.g. to different web pages on the site. Cookies are typically used to: maintain a session, store preferences, and/or track a visitor. Session cookies are automatically deleted when a browser is closed. Persistent cookies are stored by a browser until it expires (possibly indefinitely) or if explicitly deleted in the browser. Note that a browser can be made to delete cookies sooner, or reject them altogether.

This site uses a session cookie to correlate browser requests in order to: 1) maintain any user login status as pages are visited; and 2) to organize our web site logs per session. The pages on this site do not knowingly reference any resources from third-parties that might set their own cookies. Our web server will destroy its reference to the session cookie after several minutes of inactivity, and it will be unrecognized and ignored if a browser tries to send the session cookie later. We do not track browsers across different sessions.

Data Stored

The following session data is written to our log files: browser IP address, pages visited on this site, timestamps, and the referring URL (if sent by the browser). Data is stored for a maximum of one year.
