Event Forwarding
EYE generates events as it detects network problems.
Each EYE event consists of several defined fields,
such as the event's group id, text description, time
stamp, etc. Integration is accomplished by passing a
real-time stream of events from EYE to an Augur
gateway, so that Augur can process each event via an
Augur rule tree.
Augur Rule Trees
An Augur rule tree parses and maps the EYE-specific
event fields to the Augur-specific alert fields.
Optionally, the Augur rule tree can be customized to provide
alert reduction via Augur's built-in tools for correlation,
thresholding, and prioritization. Augur's
Handler API supports external
customizations, e.g. event enrichment.
Link Back
When viewing Augur alerts (generated from EYE
events), it may be useful to link back to the
EYE client to view the underlying information in EYE.
This is accomplished via Augur's
extensible context menu system.
