Get your raw data.
Connect to any data source, any protocol: Syslog, log files, sockets, telnet, interactive commands, UDP, RMI, CORBA, SNMP, databases, proprietary... you name it. (The open plug-in API ensures future compatibility too.)
Translate or enrich.
Convert binary data (e.g. SNMP traps) into human-readable XML, for example. Translate data to a common format. Or enrich raw data on-the-fly.
Record.
Log all the raw data, including interactive user activity. Store everything uniformly –– great for log search tools.

Simultaneously copy the real-time data to any clients (e.g. your management tools, reporting tools, etc.).
The standard socket interface simplifies all your client connections –– you can avoid the expense of custom probes for all your tools. Or re-broadcast natively (e.g. SNMP traps).

Configure which IP addresses and users can access which data. Record all telnet sessions for security. Manage all your data channels from Socket Station's central console.
Relax.
Since Socket Station is a single connection to your source equipment, you don't have to worry about overloading your equipment’s interfaces in order to support multiple data consumers.
